Can be considered biodynamic products, as the result of the first approach of "organic agriculture". Already in the twenties, the farmers raised issues related to land degradation and that the vitality of crops and livestock is decreasing due to the introduction of chemical fertilizers. In response to these issues Rudolf Steiner, Austrian philosopher and scientist (1861-1925), through a series of lectures given in 1924 (aimed at farmers and veterinarians), establishes the foundations of Biodynamic Agriculture.
The findings in this series of conferences provides answers to many problems that have emerged later and which now strongly. 85 years after this new method of agriculture is practiced in thousands of farms in both hemispheres. These are not theoretical answers, but answers have been applied in practice and whose effects can be checked easily. (1)
Biodynamic Agriculture considers each farm (farm, garden, house) as a body, as an entity with its own individuality, which should ideally be self-sufficient. In this way has a vision of the whole, all the components interact. These elements are not only the purely physical (man, animals, crops), but also incorporates elements associated with natural rhythms (the lunar cycles, planetary influences ...)
In practice, Biodynamic Agriculture and sustainable natural resources use for their crops, crop rotations as well thought out, compost made with manure from the farm and homeopathic preparations of plants, controlling weeds and diseases using plant-based materials and minerals etc.. This coupled with the "listening" of rhythm, force and energy "cosmic" influence on all living beings. One of his methods, known as "energizing", consists of a series of preparations, taking into account all these different elements. (2)
This approach to Biodynamic Agriculture makes it described as a spiritual approach to agriculture. Steiner was very concerned about it because I wanted this system to be distinguished from mere superstition or dogmatic beliefs, and defend a scientific process based on test scenarios as well as the meditative perception.
Yet there are detractors, while acknowledging that, the "organic" of the Biodynamic Agriculture, are skeptical regarding the methods used and not "empirically proven"...
The certification of Biodynamic Agriculture, is the Demeter seal of quality. Which certifies that the product that you take has been developed so biodynamics. Also, the label also ensures that the requirements of European organic regulations (usually accompanied by the label "organic"). Demeter International is a non-profit association responsible for the stamp and it meets the standards of production and processing to final product.
