POSPONED THE NEW LOGO BIO EUROPEO.
The new logo for organic foods in the EU, to be launched on January 1, 2009, will be postponed.
The proposed new logo for organic food is rejected and will begin again the process of selecting a logo. The European Commission proposes that the entry into force of the mandatory use of the new logo will be postponed until 2010. According to Michael Mann, spokesman for Agriculture and Rural Development, "The European Commission is fully committed to promoting and encourage organic food sector in the EU. As part of this process is a program funded by the EU, promotion of organic food and the development of a new European logo to identify them. The Commission has decided to launch the program promotion this summer."
The reason for the withdrawal of the logo has been proposed by the German supermarket chain Aldi, whose flagship product "white" is almost the same ecological andalusia previously proposed pre-approved by the EU.
To have the time enough to select the new logo, the Commission will ask the Council to delay a year (for 2010) the date for the new logo is required.

[2008/mar/20] .:. NEW LOGO EUROPEO.
Is looking to unify criteria. font> The new logo has been confirmed by 265 votes in favor and 80 against in the European Union, after the discussion about the world's "bio" with respect to the logo. The new European regulation allows the combination of graphic or textual elements referring to organic farming, if not changed its nature. It is therefore possible to find a consensus and ensure the use of a logo that is associated with organic farming.
However, the new logo you want to implement, is very similar to a line of organic food from ALDI. Therefore, this logo has not been formally implemented by the commissioner of agriculture in the EU.
The committee is in contact with ALDI to reach an agreement because, theoretically, has been endorsed by Member States and should be implemented. So we are awaiting publication in the gazette of the European Union and its formal implementation.
